LiFePO4 prices have come down and battery management systems have been developed to make this type of upgrade feasible for more EV drivers. Stephen now enjoys a 100 mile range, and a lighter car compared to the original flooded lead acid configuration. Technical details of the batteries and BMS will be shared by Thunderstruck personnel, then the car will be shown and rides will be given. See http://www.nbeaa.org/members/ruppenthal.htm for more details. Saturday, July 24, 10 AM to noon Casa Grande High School Science building Room E8 333 Casa Grande Road, Petaluma Come see Case Grande High School science teacher Sten Mander's freshly completed 1993 Corrolla wagon EV conversion. He will share with us his challenges to get the right information and the right components for his car, and discuss his effort to get EV charging available at his school. Then the car will be shown and rides will be given. There is some charging avaiable -- contact Chris per the NBEAA home page if you are interested in charging your EV there. Saturday August 28, 10 AM to noon American Lung Association, 115 Talbot Avenue, Santa Rosa Come see Brian Phillips' 2008 brushless DC NiMH Vectrix VX-1 motorcycle.
